K’Lene Oen, Chief Business Officer, has been with Pathway Genomics since its inception in 2008, driving the company’s growth and vision alongside CEO Jim Plante, who sought K’Lene as a leader based on her proven track record for navigating high-level business ventures. She met expectations, seamlessly taking the company from a one-room start-up to a fast-expanding research-industry giant currently with over 200 employees, with planned expansions into web and digital technology, and poised for public offering.
 

An early bloomer by corporate standards, K’Lene started her career right out of high school with Marriott Hotels, where her innovative implementations of customer service and internal practices earned her immediate promotions into management and corporate training roles. She was twice consecutively named Employee of The Year, an international title, for her team-building and performance initiatives.
     

Motivated by her early success after four years with Marriott, she relocated to San Diego at age twenty-two in search of bigger dreams to pursue. While employed as VP of Operations & Business Affairs for multi-millionaire entrepreneur Steven Francis, she led the private-to-public transition of his company, AMN Healthcare, all the while heading his political campaigns and managing his numerous real estate investments and Capital Ventures.
     

She credits her work ethic and natural business acumen to her mother, a well known corporate mogul in Seattle. K’Lene’s own rapidly accelerating career took priority very early on, precluding any plans for long-term studies. While occupying demanding roles, she’s acquired certifications in Hospitality and Business Management and today, she’s a highly-respected, self-made success whose accomplishments rival some of America’s great business executives.
